Mother and Child Illustration, 40” x 40”
Walter Biggs studied at the NY School of Art and was a member of the American Water Color Society (AWC). He exhibited extensively in the late 30's through mid 40's and achieved numerous prizes.
This painting displays a colorful expressionistic technique most likely illustrated in one of the popular magazines of the mid-twentieth century such as Harper’s, Good Housekeeping, The Ladies’ Home Journal, Scribner’s, etc. Often time his illustrations reflect Southern living, Biggs spent most of his time in the South.
